Jackie, a single suburban mother is shocked when her estranged sister, Elizabeth, her sister’s outrageously wealthy, big-hearted husband, Javier, and Javier’s fiercely loyal assistant land on her doorstep in need of a place to live after their money dries up. Though class differences may separate the women, and the size of the house and the number of people living in it will test the limits of family ties, the bond of sisterhood might be the catalyst they need to restore their relationship.
CBS' newest comedy, Broke, will not be returning for a second season. The cancellation was confirmed as the network announced its renewals this morning for the 2020-2021 season.
Broke premiered in April as a mid-season entry, but failed to gain much traction in both ratings and critical reception. The comedy is five episodes into its run and is expected to air all its remaining episodes as planned.
The series follows single mom Jackie, who is surprised when her estranged sister shows up at her door along with her rich husband and his loyal assistant. The couple have run into financial difficulties and the three of them are looking for a place to live. And while class differences might separate the women, the size of the house with the increased occupants tests the limits of their new living situation.
