Det.Sgt 'Bluey' Hills is a maverick cop who drinks, smokes and eats to excess, and is rather large. His unusual investigative methods set him apart. He has his own department with Sgt Monica Rourke; young keen Detective Gary Dawson and undercover cop Reg Truscott. Bluey is often at odds with his superiors but he is tolerated for the results Department B gets.
