The series is set in the Masai Mara. The reason the Mara is such a great place for a documentary is because of the great migration. Normally each year they have a lion pride, a cheetah and a leopard. Since 1996, Jonathan has co-presented Big Cat Diary, reporting on the daily lives of the Masai Mara's three species of big cat. Angela has been both photographer and adviser on the series.
