Shy Norman is reluctant at first, but with the help of his mother he begins to open up to others and make new friends. Some locals, however, aren't as friendly and welcoming to the Bates.

Bates Motel Concluding With Season 5

A&E has confirmed that Bates Motel will be closing its doors after its fifth season. The announcement was made earlier today during the veteran drama's San Diego Comic-Con panel, which leaves the show with 10 episodes in 2017 to wrap things up.
The impending end of the Psycho prequel was expected by many after key events at the end of Season 4. According to Executive Producer Carlton Cuse, Season 5 will explore ways in which Bates Motelintersects with the events of Psycho, as well as specific differences that will distinguish the TV series from the movie.

Bates Motel Season 4

will premiere on Monday, March 7th on A&E.
“Bates Motel,” a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film Psycho, will return with ten new episodes that further reveal Norman’s continued downward spiral and the effect it has on the family. This season Norma becomes increasingly fearful and desperate, going to great lengths to find Norman the professional help he needs. This further complicates their once unbreakable trust while Norman struggles to maintain his grip on reality. Sheriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell) once again finds himself drawn back into Norma and Norman’s lives. Will things finally heat up between Norma and the other man in her life, Sheriff Romero, and just how much further will he go to protect her?

Bates Motel Renewed Through Season 5

A&E announced today that Bates Motel has been renewed for seasons 4 and 5. The dramatic thriller, which recently concluded its third season, has been picked up for a total of 20 additional episodes that will be split over the next two seasons.
Production is scheduled to begin later this year, with Season 4 airing in 2016 followed by Season 5 in 2017.

Bates Motel Renewed For Season 4 By A&E!

A&E has secretly renewed Bates Motel for Season 4, according to exec producer Kerry Ehrin.
While a formal announcement is still pending, Ehrin confirmed on social media that she’d been given the greenlight from the powers that be “two months ago” for a fourth season of Bates Motel, with an official announcement imminent.

The third season of A&E’s hit drama series Bates Motel will receive its UK premiere on Universal Channel on Wednesday April 1st at 9pm, it has been announced. The show’s thirteen episode third season focuses on the evolution of the Bates family and dives head first into Norman’s waning ability to stay in denial about what’s happening to him and the lengths he will go to gain control of his fragile psyche. The dramatic events of last season leaves Norma reluctantly more aware of Norman’s mental fragility and is fearful of what he is capable of.

'Bates Motel' Renewed For Season Three
Bates Motel has officially been renewed for a 10-episode third season on the A&E network. This psychotic thriller, which is only midway through its second-season run, tells the story of a young Norman Bates (Freddie Highmore) and his slow descent into becoming a full-fledged psycho, thanks in large part to his twisted relationship with his smothering mother, Norma Bates. Production on Season Three will begin sometime later this fall. Meanwhile, the series will wrap its second season on May 5th.

Bates Motel has filled a new vacancy. The Psycho prequel is moving to Mondays at 10/9c, effective immediately, in light of A&E pulling Those Who Kill from its primetime line-up. A&E will air encore episodes of Bates Motel at 9 pm on Mondays before premiering new episodes at 10pm.

Bates Motel: After Hours will debut Monday, March 3rd at 11/10c, one hour after Bates Motel's Season Two premiere. The debut installment will feature series stars Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore and Max Thieriot as well as executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin.

Michael O'Neill has joined 'Bates Motel' and will portray Nick, father of brutally murdered high school teacher Miss Watson (Keegan Connor Tracy). Nick is coming to town to get justice for his daughter, and he doesn't plan on leaving White Pine Bay until somebody pays the price for her death.

It looks like the adventures of America's favorite (eventual) serial killer will continue for at least one more year. A&E announced this afternoon that its highly rated, and critically praised new drama 'Bates Motel' has been renewed for a second season. The second round will (like season one) consist of ten episodes, and is scheduled to premiere sometime in early 2014.
