1930's private detective Miles Banyon takes on whatever case comes his way for $20 a day plus expenses. A secretarial school run by good friend Peggy Revere is in the same building as Banyon's office and she keeps him supplied with pretty receptionists. Lt. Pete McNeill is Banyon's contact on the LAPD and singer Abby Graham is his sometime girlfriend.
