American Horror Story

An anthology series centering on different characters and locations, including a house with a murderous past, an insane asylum, a witch coven, a freak show, a hotel, a possessed farmhouse, a cult, the apocalypse and a summer camp. Each season is conceived as a self-contained miniseries, following a different set of characters and settings, and a story line with its own "beginning, middle, and end." Some plot elements of each season are loosely inspired by true events.

American Horror Story renewed for a second season

American Horror Story, the new horror series from Glee co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, has scared up a 13-episode second season.

The disturbing show, about a troubled couple — played by The Practice's Dylan McDermott and Friday Night Lights' Connie Britton — who move into a Los Angeles manor with a dark history, has sharply divided critics with its tone shifts between scares and drama, homages to classic horror scenes, and moments of high camp (embodied by a character played fabulously by Jessica Lange).

But audiences love the Horror Story: its first episode set ratings records for US pay TV network FX, and its ratings in the States grow every week.

In TVFIX's opinion probably the best way to describe the show is "so bad it's good", even though "bad" and "good" don't really apply.

"It's one thing to have the ambition and guts to reinvent a genre in a way that makes it captivatingly fresh for a broad audience — it's something else entirely to have the craft to back that ambition up," said FX president John Landgraf, praising Murphy and Brad's efforts.

I just finished watching first 3 episodes. Show is amazing! Weird, scary and dramatic. I didn't expect from FX this kind of quality.

It looks a lot like True blood.

Again... I hope they wont spoil it

it looks like a hell of a lot of ghosts in this house .
and more added every day.
didn't the girl from next door get run over and die on the garden property .so shouldn't she be a ghost around the house as well ,maybe that's to come ???or maybe she comes back in the street ,like the ones outside from the school.
maybe some just pass over ???? iv lost track of how many ghosts there are in the house now ??
anyway i like this show . there's lots going on .
maybe in series two there will be a new family ,and even more ghosts.

Skip through all the comments so I don't get any spoilers, but I just watched the first 3 episodes. This show is fantastic. Creepy, scary, thrilling... Like nothing else I'm watching (and I'm watching a lot).

American Horror Story Season 2

If Halloween doesn’t provide enough creepiness for you in the month of October, you’re in luck because the upcoming season 2 of FX’s macabre spectral drama American Horror Story is coming, and the network has just released a set of new skin-crawling promo photos. Last season we were plagued with love sick ghosts, but this season is kicking it up a few notches by making everyone living and dead out right insane in the ‘Asylum.’

For the next installment of Ryan Murphy’s ghoulish anthology series, we jump from the LA “Murder House” and the ill-fated Harmon family to an East Coast mental hospital for the criminally insane, run by returning star Oscar-winner Jessica Lange’s new character. Not much is known about the new season, but it will feature returning stars Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe all in new roles, and will also take place in the different time period of the 1960s.

Joining the few returning cast members, this season will feature plenty of newcomers set to take on some interesting and disturbing new roles, including James Cromwell as Dr. Arden, the antagonist to Lange’s new character, Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine as a half of a couple known only as ‘The Lovers,’ and sultry French actress Lizzie Brocher as a ferocious and dangerous wild-child who will play another rival to Lange’s character.

As usual, Murphy is keeping all the big details on the upcoming season 2 to himself (specially what’s up with those creepy looking masked nun things), but here’s what he did have to say on what can be expected:

“What you saw in the [season one] finale was the end of the Harmon house. The second season of the show will be a brand-new home or building to haunt. Just like this year, every season of this show will have a beginning, middle and end. [The second season] won’t be in L.A. It will obviously be in America, but in a completely different locale

We picked ‘Asylum’ because it not only describes the setting — an insane asylum run by Jessica Lange’s character which was formerly a tuberculosis ward — but also signifies a place of haven for the unloved and the unwanted,” he said. “This year’s theme is about sanity and tackling real life horrors”

I liked the forst season but it seemed rushed towards the end. I like the setting for the second season, lots of possibilities for stories.

There are definitely parts of Asylum and Coven that make me cringe, and i'm not a kid, i've seen a lot. This is by far better than most series I have EVER watched. Jessica Lange is so creepy and plays her part perfectly. She has the wickedest grin! I hope they stick to the story and don't get too caught up in the witch aspect.
