[none found]Roger Michael Kelly, known by the stage name Sam Kelly, was an English actor best known for his roles as Captain Hans Geering in 'Allo 'Allo!, Warren in Porridge, Sam in On the Up, and Ted Liversidge in Barbara.
Throughout his career Kelly also received plaudits for his theatrical performances which included roles at the National Theatre and Old Vic. In February 2014 he withdrew from his part as the Wizard of Oz in the hit West End play Wicked due to ill health.
Recent film performances include playing Maggie Smith's husband in Nanny McPhee Returns (2010), which starred Emma Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Ralph Fiennes, and a mild old softie pensioner in Common People (2013).
Sam Kelly died in Esher, United Kingdom after a long battle with cancer.
