[none found]Kavan Joel Smith is a Canadian actor, best known for his roles of Major Evan Lorne in Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1, as Deputy Andy in Eureka, as Agent Jed Garrity in The 4400, and as Leland Coulter in When Calls the Heart.
Kavan Smith attended the University of Calgary and then Mount Royal University. After graduation Smith began his acting career in 1993, in the lead role of Clay Roberts in Destiny Ridge. In 1999 he caught the eye of Brian DePalma and was cast in the sci-fi adventure Mission to Mars.
Since then he has played key roles in Human Target, Smallville, Supernatural, The Outer Limits, Sanctuary, Battlestar Galactica, Fairly Legal and Rogue, among others. Smith has also had large recurring roles in Mistresses as Ellis Boone, and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency as Nathan.
Kavan Smith has appeared in numerous TV films including The Annette Funicello Story, Mixed Blessings, Generation X, Alibi, Intensity, Escape From Mars, Fearless, Living With the Dead, Due East, Miss Texas, The Time Tunnel, Red: Werewolf Hunter, The Cult, Iron Golem, The Killing Game, Baby Bootcamp, Wedding Bells, The Perfect Bride, The Perfect Bride: Wedding Bells,and Love on the Menu to name a few.
Kavan Smith is married with two children.
