Joshua Paul "Josh" Dallas (born December 18, 1981) is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as "Prince Charming/David Nolan" in the ABC television series Once Upon a Time and Fandral in the Marvel Comics film adaptation Thor.
Born in Louisville Kentucky. He grew up right across the Ohio River in New Albany Indiana. He attended New Albany Senior Public High School, and was heavily involved in the schools award winning performing Arts programs.This is where the fire was lit that would push Dallas to continue pursing the arts.
While at New Albany High School at the age of sixteen Dallas received the Sarah Exley Scholarship, a full ride scholarship giving to one American student every three years to study acting at the prestigious Mountview Conservatoire for the Performing Arts in London England.
At the age of 20 Dallas landed his first professional job as an actor with the acclaimed Royal Shakespeare Company. He then went on to perform with some of the most renowned theater companies in the world, including the Royal National Theatre, The English National Opera, The New Shakespeare Company, and The Young Vic to name a few.
Never leaving theater far behind Dallas began landing parts in television and independent films. Missing the USA after spending ten years in London Dallas made the move back stateside and landed in Hollywood. Five days after being back in the states Dallas got the call that he was being offered the leading role of "Fandral" in 2011's Blockbuster Thor by Marvel Studios, directed by the Oscar Nominated Director/Actor, 'Kenneth Branagh'.
In 2011, he began starring on the American television series Once Upon a Time as "Prince Charming" on ABC. Dallas will not be reprising his role in the sequel to Thor due to his commitments in Once Upon a Time. 'Zachary Levi' is replacing him in the film.
Dallas met English actress 'Lara Pulver' in 2003 while working at the Theatre Royal, Windsor. They married in (2007), and were divorced in (2011). Dallas has been dating his Once Upon a Time co-star 'Ginnifer Goodwin' since fall 2011. The couple became engaged on (October 9, 2013), and on (November 20, 2013), announced that they are expecting their first child. They married on (April 12, 2014).
