TRIVIA:
  • Brother of photographer David McEnery.
  • Ex-brother-in-law of 'Julie Peasgood' (qv).
  • Younger brother of actor 'Peter McEnery' (qv).
  • British classical stage actor, best remembered for his intense, highly flamboyant portrayal of "Mercutio" in 'Franco Zeffirelli' (qv)'s film version of _Romeo and Juliet (1968/I)_ (qv). He was nominated for a BAFTA for this supporting role.
  • At age 20 he found his first stage work, spending three seasons with the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool.
  • Wrote one play "Merry Christmas, Mr. Burbage" in 1998 in honor of the 400th of the creation of the Globe Theatre.
  • Joined the National Theatre Company of Great Britain in 1966.
  • Uncle of 'Kate McEnery' (qv).
