Jerry Doyle (born July 16, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York) is an American talk radio host, right-libertarian political commentator, and television actor. His nationally-syndicated talk show, The Jerry Doyle Show, airs throughout the United States on Talk Radio Network, and has been described as the "fastest growing show in TRN Enterprises’ history". As an actor, Doyle is best known for his role as Michael Garibaldi in the science fiction series Babylon 5 (1994-1998).

Doyle grew up in Brooklyn, NY, the eldest son of a police officer and a stay-at-home mom. Doyle graduated from Pope John XXIII Regional High School in Sparta, New Jersey, Class of 1974. He played varsity football and basketball. He was nicknamed "Master of the Mach", a reference to his canary-yellow and black Ford Mustang. In 1978, Doyle earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, while also receiving his flight training.

Previously a corporate jet pilot and after a decade as a stockbroker with Drexel Burnham Lambert, Doyle made an abrupt career change into acting in 1991. He scored a bit part on Moonlighting due to his resemblance to star Bruce Willis, and then had a recurring role as a lawyer on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. Babylon 5 was his first significant starring role, starring as security officer Michael Garibaldi. Doyle has quipped that on Babylon 5 he was a "Mick from Brooklyn playing a Wop from Mars." Doyle appeared in all but the concluding episode of the series, more appearances than any other star.
After co-starring on Babylon 5, Doyle ran as the Republican candidate for California's 24th Congressional district in 2000. He lost that political race and subsequently became the host of the Jerry Doyle Show. While radio is his main occupation, Doyle occasionally works as an actor.
In 2000, Doyle ran for the United States House of Representatives in California's 24th Congressional district (Los Angeles and Ventura counties), as the Republican Nominee. He lost his bid for Congress to the incumbent Democrat Brad Sherman. He later severed his ties with the party, and now declares himself an independent.

Weekdays from 3PM-6PM PT (6PM-9PM ET), the Jerry Doyle Show airs on the Talk Radio Network, though the show airs at different times in different markets. He differs from other conservative talk show hosts, such as Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, in that he tends more towards right-libertarianism, his focus is not exclusively political, and his style is similar to Gonzo Journalism.citation needed]
On his radio show he coined the phrase "Grapefruit Mentality", defined as the ability for the public to become interested in an object or person just because the media is paying attention to it. As an example, Doyle explains if there were a segment on the news every night with a television camera pointed at a grapefruit, people will eventually travel great distances just to see the grapefruit that was on TV. Other examples Doyle uses of Grapefruit Mentality are the images of the Virgin Mary on a grilled cheese sandwich and a Virgin Mary sighting under an overpass in Chicago. It can also refer to the public's fascination with celebrity court cases such as Michael Jackson and Robert Blake. In December 2011, Doyle officially endorsed Ron Paul for the Presidency of the United States of America.
Doyle was announced as the replacement program for The Savage Nation in Talk Radio Network's lineup in October 2012. The Savage Nation, at the time the third most-listened-to radio talk show in the United States, abruptly ended its run September 26 when host Michael Savage won a lawsuit against TRN; Doyle will replace Savage on all of Savage's approximately 300 affiliates except for those who have chosen their own replacement programs.

Doyle was married to his Babylon 5 co-star Andrea Thompson from 1995 to 1997
