Gretchen Egolf grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where she began acting in theater as a child. After high school, she attended the Juilliard School for drama in New York and has been living and working in New York and Los Angeles ever since. Aside from her numerous Broadway, off-Broadway, West End, and regional theater credits, Gretchen was a series regular on Martial Law (CBS), played the recurring character of Vanessa Whitaker, in Roswell (WB), and appeared as Jackie's wife in Gleason (CBS movie), starring opposite 'Brad Garrett'.
She has guest starred on numerous shows: Law and Order, Without a Trace, Century City, Nero Wolfe, Cosby, The Naked Brothers Band, and Cracker. She has also played series regular roles in the pilots Leap of Faith, The Corsairs, and Journeyman. Gretchen's film experience has been varied and includes roles in Mira Nair's The Namesake, Anthony Minghella's The Talented Mr. Ripley, and Robert Redford's Quiz Show, as well as the independent films Social Grace and Nicolas. She currently lives in New York City.
