Having starred in over 20 films and television series in Japan, Eriko Tamura is quickly emerging one of Hollywood's most sought after new talents.

This season Eriko joined the highest rated new show of the 2006 - 2007 television season, NBC's drama "Heroes," about a group of seemingly everyday people who discover they have super powers. The show received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series - Drama and also won the People's Choice Award for Favorite New Television Drama. She joins the cast as Princess Yaeko, a love interest to Masi Oka's character Hiro.

Segueing effortlessly between the big and small screen, Eriko made her acting debut at the age of 14 in the highly acclaimed Asian feature film, "Flowerly Afternoon," which was directed by Kazuki Omori, best known in the U.S. for his work with the famous "Godzilla" television series. Eriko rose to fame when she joined the popular TV show "Go with the Wild!" as a series regular. Then she starred in the award-winning NHK's mini-series "My Beloved Ultra Seven" followed by "Hideyoshi" in which she portrayed Hosokawa, a renowned woman in Japanese history who endured severe persecution when she became Japan's first woman to convert to Christianity. This required Eriko to change her look as her character aged from 14 - 37. Eventually, Hollywood came calling. Eriko just co-starred in 20th Century Fox's feature "Dragonball".

In addition to her acting Eriko is also an accomplished singer and has released 10 albums and 15 singles throughout her career with Japanese record label Toshiba EMI.

  • TX (one of five National Television Networks in Japan) produced 51 episode cartoon series as a results of her popularity, which is entitled, "Legendary Idol Eriko". The series was fictionalized story about Eriko and was released both on DVD and as a comic book.
  • She lived in Germany for 6 years between the age of 8 to 13.
  • Beat out Miss Universe 2007, Riyo Mori, for the role of Princess Yaeko in the NBC hit series, Heroes.
  • She is currently promoting the city of Los Angeles being part of LA celebrities campaign conducted by LA Inc. since 2006.
  • She speaks fluent English, German and Japanese.
  • Auditioned for a role of Chiyo / Sayuri in Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), but lost out to Ziyi Zhang.
  • Her first car was a special order Mercedes Benz.
