Eric Millegan is an American actor, best known for his role as Dr. Zack Addy on the Fox series Bones.
This openly gay actor spent a decade on stage before landing the plum role as Bones' resident boy genius. During the 1990s, Millegan appeared in myriad stage productions, mostly in musicals, including a part in the Broadway revival of Jesus Christ Superstar and the title male role in a tuneful adaptation of the cult film Harold and Maude. In 2005, with only a handful of guest spots and one indie film on his resume, the plucky player went to Los Angeles for pilot season, and within a few weeks he had snagged his breakthrough role.
Off camera, he is an avid basketball fan who has penned articles about his favorite sport, played in the NBA's Entertainment League and sung the National Anthem before several games. He also supports AIDS charities (notably performing a duet with Bones costar Emily Deschanel during a 2008 fund-raiser) and maintains his own YouTube channel, where he posts videos about himself and basketball.
His diverse career has also included playing a dancing polar bear in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Myrtle Beach, writing a sports column (which was quoted on CNN and CNNSI) as "The Fan" of the Portland Trail Blazers for OregonLive.com, hosting "Broadway La Cage" in Atlantic City, and singing "God Bless America" during the 7th inning stretch at Shea Stadium following which the Mets exploded for six consecutive runs. Eric is an alum of the Interlochen Arts Camp and he holds a B.F.A degree in musical theater from The University of Michigan.
- Graduate of Springfield (OR) High School, graduated with B.F.A. from U. of Michigan
- Eric has three brothers - Jeffrey, Brantly, & Patrick - and two sisters - Lisa & Colleen.
