Actress Elizabeth Rogers (18 May 1934 – 6 November 2004; age 70) played Lieutenant Palmer, a relief communications officer aboard the Enterprise, in two episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series. She was also the voice of the Companion in the TOS episode "Metamorphosis".

Born in Austin, Texas, Rogers was a personal friend of writer-producer-director Irwin Allen and appeared in many of Allen's projects. She guest-starred in an episode of Allen's series The Time Tunnel, which starred fellow Star Trek alumni Whit Bissell, James Darren, and Lee Meriwether. Another Irwin Allen series on which she appeared was Land of the Giants, starring Don Marshall.

In addition, Rogers appeared in Allen's hit disaster films, The Poseidon Adventure (1972) and The Towering Inferno (1974). Allen also directed Rogers in the 1978 horror film The Swarm, although her scenes were cut from the film's original release. Besides these, Rogers had roles in several Allen-produced TV movies, including Adventures of the Queen (1975, with Paul Carr), Flood! (1976, with Whit Bissell), and Hanging by a Thread (1979, with Paul Carr and Paul Fix).

Rogers was the second female lead in Ron Howard's directorial debut, the 1977 crime comedy Grand Theft Auto, which also featured Clint Howard. Rogers' other acting credits include the films The Van (1977) and An Officer and a Gentleman (1982, co-starring Tony Plana) and appearances on such television series as Bonanza (two episodes, including one with Jason Evers and Richard Hale), Dr. Kildare (with David Opatoshu), Mannix (with Antoinette Bower and William Windom), Marcus Welby, M.D. (with William Smithers), Gunsmoke (with John Anderson, Guy Raymond, and Bill Zuckert), Bewitched, and The Waltons (with Jon Lormer).

Rogers retired from acting after appearing in the 1986 Irwin Allen-produced TV movie, Outrage! She died in Tarzana, California, in 2004, as a result of lung cancer and a series of strokes. She was 70 years old.

  • Was personal friends of 'Irwin Allen (I)' (qv), and his wife 'Sheila Allen (I)' (qv). Also played in several 'Irwin Allen (I)' (qv) movies and television series.
