[none found]Christopher Michael "Chris" Pratt (born June 21, 1979) is an American actor. He is known for his television roles, including Bright Abbott in Everwood, and Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation. His early film career began with supporting roles in mainstream films such as Wanted, Bride Wars, Jennifer's Body, Moneyball, What's Your Number?, The Five-Year Engagement, Zero Dark Thirty, Movie 43, Delivery Man and Her before achieving leading man status in 2014 with the blockbuster films The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy. He will star in Jurassic World, the continuation of the popular Jurassic Park franchise. In 2014, Pratt was ranked as #2 on People magazine's annual list of Sexiest Men Alive.
Born in Virginia, Minnesota, the son of Kathy (née Indahl), who worked at a Safeway supermarket, and Dan Pratt, who died in 2014, who worked in gold mining and later remodeling houses. Pratt was raised in Lake Stevens, Washington, where he placed fifth in a state wrestling tournament as a high school student.
When Pratt was 19, he moved to Hawaii with a group of hometown friends where he was "discovered" by actress 'Rae Dawn Chong'. He was her waiter at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company in Maui and made her bust up laughing with his forward sense of humor. It just so happened she was looking for the lead character in her horror/comedy Cursed Part 3 (2000). She gave him an audition. Four days later, Pratt began production in LA as a leading role in Chong's directorial debut. After wrapping Cursed in 2001, and cashing the 750 bucks it gave him, he thought, "What the hell?" and bought a used car and started couch surfing and going to auditions. He began booking work almost immediately, and, after a guest spot on USA's The Huntress (2000), which lent him his SAG card, and a pay-day TV movie which shot in New Zealand, Pratt ended up landing a leading role on The WB's critically acclaimed Everwood (2002).
Pratt is still extremely close with his family and friends. His hobbies include, hanging with loved ones, writing, shooting short films, painting, fishing, hunting, making music and rebuilding his '63 VW Beetle. His hope was to buy his mom a house one day. And he did!
Pratt met actress 'Anna Faris' on the set of the film Take Me Home Tonight in 2007. Pratt and Faris were engaged two years later. They married in Bali (July 9, 2009). They have a son, Jack, (b. August 2012). Pratt and Faris owned a cat, named Mrs. White, that had earlier played Snowbell in Stuart Little.
