An incredibly talented and versatile actor, Benjamin Ratner has appeared on TV and in movies, in the theater, and even has had his own one man show. He has also written a couple movie scripts, taught acting classes in his native Vancouver, and won a boxing Gold Medal in the 1982 Britsh Columbia Games.
Ben has had many exceptional TV performances. He has appeared on "Mysterious Ways" (2000), "The Outer Limits" (1995), and the "The Twilight Zone" (2002), and well as the Sentinel and "Seven Days" (1998). His performance in "Mysterious Ways" (2000), where he played a man haunted by his imaginary friend, was especially impressive. Mr. Ratner also has a very successful film career and has appeared in around 20 films. Among them are Magic in the Water (1995), Last Wedding (2001), and Leaving Normal (1992). He has also written a screenplay called Valhalla Summer which is being developed into a movie.
On stage, Ben has mounted two one man shows: Cherished and Forgotten and The Smell of Pokey Dying. He was also a finalist in the Yuk Yuk's Search for Canada's Funniest New Comedian in both 1990 and 1991. As if that wasn't enough, Mr. Ratner is also very musical. He writes music and lyrics and was formerly a bassist for the award-winning recording artists L. Kabong.
- Was an amateur boxer. Won Gold Medal at the 1981 BC Winter Games.
- Played bass and wrote songs for "L.Kabong" 1985-1989, opening for touring acts such as 'Bryan Adams (I)' (qv), 'Squeeze (I)' (qv), 'Melissa Etheridge' (qv), and 'Living Colour' (qv).
