Arlene Tur was born and raised in Miami, Florida by her Cuban parents Illuminada Arlene Tur, a nurse, and Juan Tur, a farmer. An only child, Arlene has said she spent most of her early years "reading books up in an avocado tree."
While attending the International University of Florida where Arlene graduated with dual Marketing and Public Relations degrees, Arlene played professional beach volleyball where she was discovered and began modeling.
Her modeling career ignited her passion for travel & culture during which she picked up Italian and Portuguese as her 3rd & 4th languages to go along with Spanish & English. At this time, Arlene began studying acting and trained with Uta Hagen in New York City, and Howard Fine in Los Angeles.
Tur began her acting career in the Hispanic comedy hit series, Los Teens, which aired on Telemundo and other South American and European networks. In addition, Tur had an unforgettable role in Grey's Anatomy and was a series regular in two pilots, an ABC comedy opposite Jason Segal and Mark Valley, and an NBC drama starring with Cary Elwes. Currently, she can be seen in Crash, the Starz original series based on the Oscar winning film, as part of a talented ensemble cast.
- Her old youth pastor, Raymond Guirola, now teaches Government/Economics at Dade Christian School in Miami Lakes, Florida.
