Aaron Robert Ashmore is a Canadian film and TV actor best known for his recurring roles as Jimmy Olsen on Smallville, Steve Jinks on Warehouse 13, Johnny Jaqobis on Killjoys, and most recently as Duncan Locke on Locke and Key.
Having been active in the industry since 1991, Aaron has been going from strength-to-strength in recent years, with parts in Designated Survivor, Cardinal, In Plain Sight, Lost Girl, Missing, and as Troy Vadegraff in Veronica Mars to name a few.
The Aaron and his identical twin brother Shawn started out in commercials, sometimes by themselves and sometimes together. When they were 12, Aaron got an offer to be in a commercial, but he fell ill on that day, and Shawn went in his brother's place. Ever since then, Shawn's career has always been 1 step in front of his brother's. Since high school, when they were routinely mixed up with one another, their talents have become a lot less identical. They have been offered different roles to play, and they are looking a lot less identical now that they are growing older. Aaron is now more sturdily built with a broader face and broad shoulders. He stands 6' 0" which is an inch taller than Shawn who is 5' 11".
Ashmore's big screen acting debut came in 1991 when he had a small role in the film Married to It. His next appearance was on the small screen, when he played the role of Young Byron Spencer in the TV movie Gross Misconduct: The Life of Brian Spencer in 1993. Most recently he has appeared in the 2016 thriller Regression, the 2018 Canadian indie film, 22 Chaser. the 2019 Tammy's Always Dying and has 3 movies in post-production for 2020/2021.
