Unless you've been living under a rock the past few years, you're well aware of Emma Stone. The actress began her career with a comedic performance in Super Bad, but has gone on to prove that she can deliver acclaimed performances in award-winning films.
Recently, she took home a Golden Globe Award for her performance in La La Land. An Oscar nomination is sure to follow, and possibly, even a win. However, it's Stone's upcoming performance that is liable to shock the world.

If Stone earns an Academy Award nomination, it won't be her first. The actress was previously nominated for her supporting role in 2014's Birman (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). Yet, Stone lost the gold statue to Patricia Arquette for the flick Boyhood. With her recent Golden Globe win, though, the famous red head has a better chance at winning the Oscar this go-around.
Since her film debut, Stone has starred in a variety of films, paying her dues along the way. She has participated in numerous flicks, including Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The House Bunny, Zombieland, and Easy A. A frequent collaborator with Ryan Gosling (Gangster Squad, Crazy, Stupid, Love, and La La Land), the actress may have her hands full with her next project.

Slated for a 2018 release is Cruella, in which Emma Stone is reportedly set to play Cruella de Vil. This will be the latest live-action Disney flick to hit theaters, following Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, and Cinderella.
Cruella de Vil has already been played by another Academy Award-nominated actress: Glenn Close. Close portrayed the villain in two flicks, in which both performances were universally praised by critics.
Can Stone top Close?
It's likely that the former will put her own spin on the character, in what will be well received performances. And while Stone's de Vil will definitely be different than Close's, we're predicting that it will be too hard to declare one better than the other.
Regardless, we can't wait to see those puppies hit the big screen!
