Bill Murray will not be appearing in the upcoming "Ghostbusters III," which is likely to feature a comedy packed female cast. Instead, he gave his take on who should star in the blockbuster.
During his interview with The Toronto Star, Murray suggested Melissa McCarthy, his co-star in the upcoming film "St. Vincent," would be a great fit for a role in the next "Ghostbusters" film. He also mentioned three of his favorite female comedians.
“Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny -- God, she’s funny!" he told the Star during the Toronto Film Festival this weekend. “I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”
When Mr. Murray speaks, people typically listen. I am assuming he has some inside information about these heavy hitting comedians. Paul Feig, the director of "Bridesmaids," which starred both Wiig and McCarthy, is currently in negotiations to helm the next chapter of the "Ghostbusters" saga, according to reports.
