Just wanted to say "keep up the good work." There are so many people who appreciate your website!
I actually have some great links for you to look at for captias
http://recaptcha.net/ "recaptha" is the greatest solution to your problem i learned all of this from Security now
http://media.grc.com/sn/SN-100-lq.mp3 Right click and save Listen to the whole thing the WHOLE THING
Jesus that sucks, at least you caught it before it got too out of hand. Maybe you could only allow so many account creations per ip or something too. Maybe that'd open up too many other issues, I don't know. Good luck though, the captchas seem like a good idea.
To bad there isn't a silver bullet to take these hackers out permenently.Seek and destroy type of bullet.
Glad to see you back. I hope the bad people go away. I love this site!
Take a look at this page http://blogs.pandasoftware.com/blogs/pandalabs/archive/2007/07/24/XRumer.as
px and then especially the movie at the bottom of the page.
The best thing you can do is letting new users answer a question during registration.
We've got it also recently on a website were Captcha and email activation did't work anymore and haven't seen any bots again.
Nice job keeping hackers off this web admin
oh so that`s what happened ?
I think security always comes first in the piority list. Glad it's under control now and hope it stays that way in the future.
