'iZombie' Ending With Season 5

Today at its upfront presentation for the 2018-2019 season, The CW announced that Season 5 of iZombie will be its last. The news comes the week after the veteran drama earned a last minute renewal for what will now be its final season.
While a show's fans never like to hear of it coming to an end, advanced notice like this does give showrunners an opportunity to craft a proper ending to the story - a situation much more desirable than when a show gets axed after a season-ending cliffhanger, as is what happens to so many.
The fifth and final season of iZombie was slotted in once again as a mid-season entry, meaning a premiere in early 2019 is likely.

'Jane The Virgin' To End After Season 5

While announcing its schedule for the 2018-2019 season, The CW confirmed that Season 5 of Jane the Virgin will be its last. The announcement makes official what many fans had already surmised earlier this year, when star Gina Rodriguez commented that she would be directing more episodes in "our final season".
Also revealed today was that, for the first time, the series will not be part of the network's fall lineup. Instead it being held for a mid-season premiere to finish off its run.
Jane the Virgin follows an aspiring writer in her mid-twenties who, despite her vow to protect her virginity until marriage, has her world turned upside down when she is accidentally artificially inseminated during a routine check-up.

Fox Cancels 'LA To Vegas'

It is being reported that Fox has cancelled LA To Vegas after its first season. The sad news comes as the network is making its final decisions for the 2018-2019 season.
The freshman comedy premiered in early January as a mid-season entry. A promising start prompted Fox to add three episodes to its order, but the show ultimately could not hold onto its early audience over the course of its run.
The series starred Dylan McDermott in his first starring role in a television comedy. Episodes followed the eccentric flight crew and passengers of a regular weekend round-trip flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on a budget airline.

Producers of "The Expanse" In Talks With Amazon

Talks are ongoing, but neither side is talking publicly.

SyFy canceled the series because of the nature of the agreement between the show's producers and the network, which only gives the cable network first-run linear rights in the US, which basically means that ratings depend heavily on live viewership, which is perfect for online networks.

'The Last Ship' To End With Season 5

It is being reported that The Last Ship will conclude after its upcoming fifth season. The news, while surely disappointing to fans, at least gives those awaiting the show's fate an update on its status. It has been more than a year-and-a-half since the show was last picked up for Seasons 4 and 5 within a one-month span.
TNT's move to end the veteran series was somewhat expected, as those close to the show appear to have known its fate for some time. The most-telling info came last fall from Travis Van Winkle, who plays Danny, when he posted a since-deleted message on his Instagram account referring to a "series wrap".
While today's news is surely sad for The Last Ship's loyal fans, they can at least take solace that the show will get a satisyfing conclusion to its storyline, as its impending end was clearly known well ahead of time.
Look for the final season to premiere later this year.

Last Man Standing image

'Last Man Standing' Revived By Fox

The rumors were true - Fox announced today that Last Man Standing is being revived and will return for a seventh season. The good news comes almost exactly one year after the Tim Allen comedy was cancelled by its original network, ABC.
Earlier this month, multiple outlets were reporting that Fox was interested in bringing back the popular sitcom. The network obviously heard the significant outcry from fans after ABC unexpectedly axed the series, which was still a solid performer at the time. The recent success story of Roseanne's revival quite possibly sped up efforts to bring the show back to appease a large fan base that obviously was not ready for it to end.
Last Man Standing will return for the 2018-2019 television season and is set to include most, if not all, of the original cast.
