  • Goof (continuity error): When the dome lands, it cuts a cow in half, which slumps the ground, sliding on the surface of the dome. It leaves no blood behind on the dome's surface, yet when Dale touches it with his blood covered hand, it leaves a bloody hand print behind. The cow should have left blood behind as well.
  • Goof (continuity error): The wrist watch on Barbie's right hand switches between a Casio G-Shock and a generic black rubber watch several times.
  • Goof (continuity error): The kids shoot video with a smart phone and hold it vertically. The footage shown is horizontal.
  • Goof (factual errors): James 'Big Jim' Rennie is seen switching some circuit breakers and turning on lights, ostensibly powered by the Gentron Pro2 6000W portable generator that he had been fiddling with just before. But the generator is obviously not operating. No panel lights are illuminated, and the conversation is clearly heard. If this generator's 72dB engine was running, a normal conversation would be impossible.
  • Goof (continuity error): Deputy Linda Esquivel shows up at the diner fresh from the scene of her boss' death, with her uniform still bloody. She is now sporting a speaker/microphone for her walkie-talkie, which she had not had just minutes before.
  • Goof (revealing mistake): After Barbie and Norrie talks outside the gas station, Barbie walks between the pumps towards the street. As the camera pans across the pumps, the water tower's reflection shows its real text; "Burgaw N.C.", the town where the series is filmed.
  • Goof (boom mic visible): (at around 17 mins) Microphone visible in the left bottom corner when Barbie steps in to the woods with a rifle.
  • Goof (continuity error): When Barbie is punching James as he is on the floor during their fight, he is using his left hand. Later at the hotel with Julia, she notices bruising on his knuckles and mentions it, but the marks are on his right hand.
  • Goof (factual errors): Angie McAlister finds a radio and tunes in the local FM radio station. The problem is that she's deep underground in a fallout shelter, a place where radio waves cannot reach.
  • Goof (plot holes): The entire city is afraid because former deputy Paul Randolph has escaped from custody with a single rifle stolen from the police station. Previously Randolph was seen handing out automatic weapons like they were candy bars, yet no mention is made of this far more deadly arsenal.
  • Goof (factual errors): Chester's Mill city Councilman James 'Big Jim' Rennie appoints Deputy Linda Esquivel to the office of Sheriff, which is a county office, not a city one. The city official has no standing in county governance.
  • Goof (continuity error): Colin Fords character "Joe Mcalister" uses an iPhone in the first 2 episodes to record events, in this episode he plays back the video he took and he now has a Windows Phone, in subsequent episodes he still has the new phone. However Norrie still used an iPhone in episode 4 when filming them.
  • Goof (factual errors): A nurse or doctor is intent on administering injectable medication to a patient lying on a hospital bed. In doing so she plunges the syringe right into the side of the IV bag. This would cause the bag to immediately leak through the hole she made in it. In reality, injectable medication is administered through an injection port on the IV tubing so that it goes directly into the patients vein. It is not shot into the bag of IV solution.
  • Goof (crew or equipment visible): (at around 34 mins) When Alice, Norrie's mom, shouts off camera, "Help! Please, we need help," on the right side one of the cameramen is in the shot filming the approaching actors.
  • Goof (continuity error): At the end when the Reverend is dead, his arm is laying across his chest, but in the following shot, as Big Jim walks away from him, his arm is by his side.
  • Goof (continuity error): (36:30 mark) When Julia drives up on Barbie walking in the pouring rain, she hugs him and the back of his hair is not even wet. The angle changes, and when it goes back his hair is now wet.
  • Goof (continuity error): In "Under the Dome" (2013) {Blue on Blue (#1.5)}, a MOAB blast devastated everything outside the dome as far as could be seen (presumably 10 miles, the size of the quarantine zone), yet scenes looking out from inside the dome show everything perfectly intact.
  • Goof (anachronisms): Navy sailors haven't worn the shown uniform (dungarees and white cap) since 1995.
  • Goof (continuity error): When Junior is pointing a shotgun at Big Jim, he racks the shotgun twice. Assuming he was initially pointing the shotgun without a round in the chamber (which in itself is somewhat unlikely), the second time the shotgun was racked, the previously chambered shell should have been ejected. Since Junior went on to shoot Ollie, we know shells were in the magazine.
  • Goof (continuity error): When the girls are breaking the globes against the dome you can see nice green vegetation and trees on the other side of the dome. Just two episodes ago everything outside the dome was destroyed by a bomb and the terrain was all burned and brown.
  • Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Julia finds the life insurance policy in the safe deposit box there is a typographical error. "The premium shall be paid uintil: 01/10/48"
  • Goof (audio/visual unsynchronized): When Angie pulls her weapon on Big Jim the sound of the weapon being cocked can be heard. However she is holding an M1A Semi Automatic Rifle which would chamber a round automatically.
  • Goof (factual errors): When Julia is at the bank looking at her late husband's insurance policy, there's a written error in the policy document. Instead of "The premium shall be paid until..", there is written "The premium shall be paid uintil..".
  • Goof (continuity error): When Angie, Joe, Junior, and Norrie approach the big dome and place their hands on it, we can clearly see a normal scene on the exterior of the dome. But in "Under the Dome" (2013) {Blue on Blue (#1.5)}, when the federal government tried to destroy the dome by setting off a nuclear bomb, everything in the general area of the dome was utterly destroyed.
  • Goof (continuity error): When the dome goes dark there is an aerial shot from outside which clearly shows the surrounding fields and trees. The entire area around the dome was destroyed when the army attempted to destroy the dome with a bomb. It's impossible that everything could grow back that quickly yet the shot shows perfect trees and fields.
  • Goof (continuity error): Around the 10 minute mark, despite there being a blackout, sunshine is shown through the window in Barbie's cell.
