In the mid 24th Century at the Space Academy and aboard the 'Polaris', a training ship, Cadets Tom Corbett, Roger Manning and Astro are training to become Solar Guards. The "Polaris" takes them on numerous adventures, usually natural catastrophes rather than villains. This hugely popular sci-fi show aired on all four major networks, including in 1951 when it ran on NBC and ABC simultaneously.
