Season 10 Trivia

  • Episode 14 - Archived newspapers indicate Jackie Gleason paid a glowing tribute to Red Skelton, and he and Arthur Godfrey spent most of the remainder of the program chatting informally, telling jokes, reminiscing, and even performing. Gleason does his 'Away We Go' shuffle while Godney plays on his banjo.
  • Episode 18 - The title refers to the Battle of the Alamo fought during the war for Texan independence.
  • Episode 10 - This program, a tribute to one of Red Skelton's TV sponsors, was taped at the Johnson's Wax Company plant in Racine, WI.
  • Episode 15 - Marcel Marceau performed a 'Hare and Tortoise' pantomime. Red Skelton, still recuperating from radical back surgery, appeared briefly in a non strenuous pantomime of a fairy tale.
  • Episode 12 - This program was the first in a series featuring guest hosts and repeats while Red Skelton recuperated from radical surgery. He would eventually return on 14 March 1961. Danny Thomas reprises his nightclub routine, Angela Cartwright sings a few songs, and Rusty Hamer performs a drum
