  • Janet Hubert and James Avery have stated in interviews that they'd never heard of the Fresh Prince before they signed on for the series.
  • The mascot at Will and Carlton's college, ULA, is a peacock. This is a reference to the show's network, NBC, which had used a peacock as its logo for years.
  • Goof (continuity error): In the beginning of the episode where Aunt Viv and Uncle Phil go to Palm Springs for the weekend and Will can't go, he is wearing an inner tube that is under the left arm. In the next shot it is under the right and keeps moving back and forth.
