Showtime announced today that The Chi will be returning for a second season. The good news comes after a solid start for the freshman drama, which is averaging 4 million weekly viewers through its first four episodes.
Set in Chicago, the city of which it is named after, The Chifocuses on working-class residents within a south side community who become linked by coincidence but are bonded by the need for connection and redemption. Production on Season 2 of The Chi will begin later this year for a likely preimere in early 2019.
