Daytime Drama, spun off from "Another World," which followed Iris Carrington (Beverlee McKinsey) from Bay City as she rediscovered Alex Wheeler, a former love, and moved to the Houston area. The stories centered around the daily lives of the wealthy Wheelers and Bellmans and the middle-class Marshalls with their ranching and oil interests.

- This series was originally intended as a historical soap opera set in 19th century Louisiana, but NBC wanted to capitalize on the success of CBS's Dallas (1978) and asked for changes in the format.
