[show]Actress Inga Swenson played the villainous Swede with the thick Germanic accent, Ingrid Svenson. She was Corrine's real mother, and a serious thorn in the Tates' side. Ironically and interestingly enough, her character had pretty much the same name she did in real life. Swenson was the only actor from Soap to be used for the Soap spinoff Benson, other than series star Robert Guillaume. In Benson she played Gretchen Krause, still Swedish ofcourse, but no longer villainous, Gretchen was just a comic thorn in Benson's side, and eventually they would become friends.
- The character of Father Flotsky was added as an in-joke to a character created by Lenny Bruce in a classic routine.
- Gordon Jump starred on "Soap" and "WKRP" concurrently.
