Main Characters in this Episode
Well, you know, love isn't something you feel, it's something you do. If the person you're with doesn't want it, you know, do yourself a favor and save it for someone who does.
Vanessa Diaz: Donna, you cannot bring strange people home. This isn't Canada!
Bettina: I think they've outlived their usefulness. Men have become obsolete.
- Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): In the episode where Nate's first lover Fiona dies, he says that he was 15 and she was 32. However, Fiona's birth year was listed as 1952, and Nate was born in 1965, which means that when he was 15 she would have been around 28.
- Book editor Susie Bright appears as herself in this episode. The original intention was that it should be singer Joni Mitchell but producer Alan Poul nixed the idea as Mitchell was too recognizable a personality.
- The film that Nate is watching when Billy enters the room is Beyond Borders.
- Kathy Bates was quite ill during the filming of this episode and had actually been told to go home by her doctor. She was only partly present in many of the scenes she appears in, the rest of the time her presence being covered by writer Jill Soloway doubling for her in a wig.
