Silent Witness follows the work of a team of forensic pathologists. Initially starring Amanda Burton as Dr/Prof.Sam Ryan with William Gaminara as Dr.Prof.Leo Dalton. and Tom Ward as Dr.Harry Cunningham but at the beginning of Series 8 Sam left after investigating a case of police corruption. Not long after Dr. Nikki Alexander (played by Emilia Fox) joined the team of Leo and Harry.
