Episode Quotes

The Great Herrmann: And you... I sense you're a great investigator of things unsolved. Named after a poet and a fish...
Emerson Cod: Uh-huh, I sense you better give me back my wallet 'fore I make my foot disappear up your...
Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles: What do you got against a magic show? [exultantly] There's sequins, and drama, and the promise of bloodshed!
Olive Snook: He magically put those tickets in that pie.
Emerson Cod: If by "magically," you mean "made you look that way so you wouldn't see what they were doing this way", then, yes, those tickets alakazammed their way right underneath that delicious flaky crust. [chuckles falsely, then suddenly serious and blasé] Or: hocus pulled the damn tickets out of his pocket, and pocus slid them under the pie pan, as evidenced by the cherry-rhubarb crumble on his sleeve.

  • Goof (revealing mistake): Chuck carries a supposedly functional metal detector past a suit of armor, but the metal detector does not beep.
  • Goof (continuity error): In the final scene of this episode we see Dwight Dixon opening Chuck's empty coffin. In this scene we see the hinge of the coffin on the right side (from an outsider's perspective), however when Ned open's Chuck's coffin in the first episode, the hinge is on the left.

  • The title is from the refrain of the 1974 song "Magic" by the Scottish band, Pilot.
