Episode Quotes

Richard: [repeated line, regarding Mrs. Fortescue] She's lethal with that stick!
Hyacinth: Watch the cyclist.
Richard: I'm watching the cyclist.
Hyacinth: She shouldn't be riding a bicycle wearing skirts as short as that.
Hyacinth: [Richard is looking over to the side] Keep your eyes on the road, dear.
Richard: [looking in the rear-view mirror] But you just told me to watch the cyclist.
Hyacinth: Just watch the road.
Mrs. Fortescue: You have very interesting relatives, Mrs. Bucket.
Hyacinth: It's Bouquet. Yes, they are. Very... interesting.

Richard: Wasn't that Bruce!
Hyacinth: Keep your eyes on the road, dear.

  • Goof (continuity error): When Richard parks his car in front of the pub the right side of the car is over the line. The next time you see the car it is within it's lines.

  • The oft-mentioned Mrs. Sonja Barker-Finch, who lives across the street from Hyacinth (and is loathed by her for her apparent higher social standing), is finally seen in this episode. However, in every shot she is walking/talking with another woman, and it is never specified as to which one she actually is (both actresses are also uncredited). Given the domineering attitude of the lady in the tweed suit with brooch and shorter, blonde hair (the other wears glasses), and her reaction when seeing Hyacinth on the truck and the way the camera appears to focus on her more than her companion, it is safe to assume that this is Mrs. Barker-Finch and the second lady is an acquaintance.
