Centered around bumbling secret agent “Agent 86” Maxwell Smart (Don Adams) and partner "Agent 99" (Barbara Feldon). Smart and 99 worked for CONTROL, a secret U.S. Govt. spy agency based in Washington. Together, they investigate various threats to the world. Smart's bumbling always causes complications but lucky for him, his faithful assistant "99" is always there to bail him out.

  • Episode 19 - Don Adams and Dick Gautier couldn't stop laughing when filming their scene in the closet in which Hymie had to kiss Max on the cheek.
  • Episode 03 - Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): It is stated that all three suspects are left-handed, but Zukor writes with his right hand.
  • Episode 01 - The pilot episode was adapted into a 1967 stage play by Christopher Sergel.
  • Episode 09 - Goof (continuity error): When Max is reading the ransom note his cigarette is in his right hand as he drops the note. In the next scene it is in his left hand.
  • Episode 01 - Goof (boom mic visible): The top two feet or so of the boom mic is visible in sun glare on drivers side windshield of the 1965 Lincoln limo during dialog. When Max moves away, the boom can be seen going over the roof of the car to follow him.
