Get Shorty centers on Miles Daly, who works as muscle for a murderous crime ring in Nevada. For the sake of his daughter, he attempts to change professions and become a movie producer, laundering money through a Hollywood film, Rick, a washed up producer of low quality films becomes Miles’ partner and guides Mile through the maze of Hollywood. But instead of leaving the criminal world behind, he accidentally brings it with him to Los Angeles
Epix announced today that Get Shorty has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes just two weeks into the dramedy's 10-episode freshman run, and makes the show the third Epix newbie to get a Season 2 order shortly after its premiere; the other two being Graves and Berlin Station, both of which scored renewals late last year.
Based on Elmore Leonard's best-selling 1990 novel of the same name, Get Shorty follows Miles Daly, who works as the muscle for a Nevada crime ring. Wanting to broaden his horizons in an attempt win back his wife and daughter, he changes professions by becoming a movie producer with the help of a washed-up filmmaker.
Epix has ordered another 10 episodes of Get Shorty for Season 2, which is expected to premiere in 2018.
