Chris Peterson is a 30-year-old man who has never grown up. - June Lockhart was originally cast as Chris' mother, Gladys. After a pilot was filmed, Lockhart was replaced with Elinor Donahue and her scenes were re-shot.
- In order to please Fox executives, the writers would submit scripts that were sentimental and family-friendly. The writers would then change the lines during filming.
- In the DVD releases of the show, the production crew can be heard laughing at the lines by the actors if the laugh track is turned off.
