Doctor Who (UK)

The Doctor looks and seems human. He's handsome, sexy and witty, and could be mistaken for just another man in the street. But the Doctor is a Time Lord: a 909 year old alien with 2 hearts, part of a gifted civilization who mastered time travel with his TARDIS. The Doctor saves planets for a living and he's very, very good at it. The human race will survive - but only with the Doctor's help.

The Eleventh Doctor's companion Amy Pond has red hair and later revealed to be River Song's own mother in "A Good Man Goes to War". Both Catherine Tate (Donna Noble) and Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) are natural redheads.

Kate's line about the disastrous consequences of information about the Doctor getting into the wrong hands was supposed to be juxtaposed with a film poster for the Peter Cushing films - Dr. Who and the Daleks and Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. (1966), implying that they are fictional in-universe. Unfortunately, they were unable to afford the rights.
