Episode Quotes

Dr. Kathleen Benedict: Look, you two have already tried separation, so the next step is divorce. But since you're here, I'm assuming you want to save this marriage. So, I'll ask again, how have the last couple of nights been?
Judith Anderson: Fine.
Alan Anderson: A start.
Dr. Kathleen Benedict: This is never going to work unless you start expressing your feelings.
Alan Anderson: Right, right. The process.
Dr. Kathleen Benedict: Okay. For the next couple of days I'd like to increase your sessions. The focus should be about getting back to the basics of being a couple. I want your guys to be more spontaneous. Get out and enjoy a night on the town.
Judith Anderson: Last night we did something kind of spur of the moment.
Dr. Kathleen Benedict: And what was that?
Alan Anderson: We checked into a motel.
Maya Taylor: [in Mr. & Mrs. Andersons' recall] Where's Alan? [Alan strangles her]
Dr. Kathleen Benedict: Sounds romantic.
Alan Anderson: There was a spark or two. It was like our first time all over again.
Judith Anderson: I get butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it.
Dr. Kathleen Benedict: Now we're finally getting somewhere. You gotta trust the process. Let's build on this. Any plans of doing it again?
Judith Anderson: Definitely.
Alan Anderson: Absolutely.
Dr. Kathleen Benedict: Dancing. I'm impressed. How did all that romance make you feel?
Judith Anderson: Spoiled. The roses, the dancing. He gave up a lot to make last night very special.
Alan Anderson: Yeah, I guess I'm starting to realize that it can't always be about me.
Dr. Kathleen Benedict: Compromise is important. I'm glad you're starting to understand that. I gotta say, you both are making great progress.
Judith Anderson: I think I speak for both of us when I say we'd love to make this part of our regular routine again.
Derek Morgan: Come here, come here.
Savannah Hayes: You know, that's why I blame you.
Derek Morgan: What, me?
Savannah Hayes: Yes. One more time turned into two more times, and now there's no way we're getting a table on such short notice.
Derek Morgan: Girl, look at you. Can you blame me? But as long as I'm with you, we can go anywhere you want... Oh, wait a minute. Hello, what are you doing here?
Penelope Garcia: Oh, my God.
Savannah Hayes: Penelope?
Penelope Garcia: Wow, it is so nice to finally meet you.
Savannah Hayes: You, too.
Derek Morgan: Hey, you must be Sam.
Sam: Sam I am. I've heard a lot about you.
Derek Morgan: Oh, not guilty. Not guilty.
Penelope Garcia: Look at you guys. You're literally flawless. You're like the live-action Ken and Barbie.
Sam: So where are you guys headed?
Derek Morgan: Well, we actually had a change of plans.
Sam: Same here.
Penelope Garcia: Is what's happening right now what I think is happening right now?
Savannah Hayes: Why, I believe so.
Penelope Garcia: This is our first double date.
Sam: In that case, after you.
Savannah Hayes: All right.
Derek Morgan: And after you, sir.

Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (factual errors): Reid uses Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo as an example of a married killing couple. He says they 'raped, tortured and killed at least nineteen people' but this is incorrect - they killed only three people as a pair, although Bernardo is suspected of raping several others on his own. Reid also mispronounces Karla's last name, he says 'Homolko'.

Trivia

  • This episode makes a rare reference to a Canadian serial killer duo: Paul Bernardo & Karla Homolka, in dialogue by Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler).
