Marzipan City is a place where anything can happen. Mung Daal owns a catering business and has acquired an apprentice named Chowder. Chowder is an energetic young lad who wishes to become the greatest chef in the world, but his love of food and his short attention span often results in him causing unintended havoc. Truffles (Mung's wife) takes orders; Shnitzel, a rock monster helps out.

[show]Panini originally had an outfit which only revealed her face (which was to have pointy ears), and was going to bully Chowder in a manner similar to Rugrats's Angelica Pickles. But C.H. Greenblatt disliked unctuous obnoxious characters like Angelica, and so decided to make Panini cuter and sweeter: he made the pointy ears bunny ears, and made her have a crush on Chowder; since Chowder is not old enough for girls, Greenblatt felt this would make the romance much funnier.
