Jon Seda Returning
Antonio Dawson is coming home. Chicago P.D. star Jon Seda, who left the NBC cop drama midway through this past season to join Chicago Justice, will be returning to P.D. next season as a series regular. He will reprise his role as Dawson. Speculation about Seda possibly rejoining P.D. started shortly after NBC in May cancelled the newest Chicago offshoot, Chicago Justice, after a 13-episode first-season run. Talks with the actor commenced shortly thereafter, eventually leading to a deal. It is unclear how Dawson will be reintegrated into the P.D. team.

Sophia Bush Not Returning as Regular in Season 5
Chicago P.D. female lead Sophia Bush is leaving the NBC cop drama series after four seasons. She is the second key Chicago P.D. player to depart, along with co-creator/showrunner Matt Olmstead, who left in March. Bush is leaving on her own accord. A possible exit for the actress was hinted in the recent Season 4 finale of Chicago P.D, which saw her character, Detective Erin Lindsay, on the verge of accepting a job with the FBI in New York. The episode ended with a cliffhanger, with Lindsay standing on a bridge, ignoring Jay’s call. There is a possibility for Bush to return for a guest-starring arc to wrap her character’s story. The show is mulling bringing in a new prominent female cast member though it also may stick with its remaining cast.

'Chicago PD' Renewed For Season 5

NBC announced today that Chicago PD has been renewed for a fifth season. The veteran spin-off joins franchise-mates Chicago Fire and Chicago Med in being picked up for the 2017-2018 television season. Chicago Justice, the most-recent entry in the franchise, is still awaiting a decision on its fate.
The first spin-off of hit Chicago Fire, Chicago PD involves stories of the uniformed police patrol and intelligence unit that pursues the perpetrators of The Windy City's major street offenses. The series continues to be a reliable performer for the network year in and year out, and in 2018 will reach the impressive 100-episode milestone.

Tracy Spiridakos Set To Recur

Spiridakos will play Detective Hailey Upton who is in the robbery homicide unit. Her character will first appear in the “Fagin” May 3rd. Upton is described as someone with killer instincts, humour, and smarts. Always clocking in overtime, she got her detective shield meritoriously on the heels of an undercover assignment that is still shrouded in secrecy, and as a result has had to prove herself to those who thought she didn’t earn the detective promotion. She’s not afraid to be the lone female in the boys club. She’ll clash with Voight over control of a case but for the sake of solving it, they set aside their differences to work together. Voight says if she’s ever interested in Intelligence, he has a spot for her.

Chicago PD's Jon Seda Moving to Spinoff Chicago Justice

it was Chicago boss Dick Wolf’s idea to have Dawson move to Justice. It was a creative decision based on the natural trajectory of the character who had been hitting a wall on his intelligence beat and, as a single father, had been looking for a more stable, steady job. The exact timing of Seda’s transition from PD to Justice is TBD. He is still on the cop drama where his character will eventually depart for his new gig. On Chicago Justice, Seda also joins stars Philip Winchester and Carl Weathers.

Two Cast Members Cut From 'Chicago P.D.'
We're a little less than three weeks away from the series premiere of NBC's Chicago P.D., but that hasn't stopped two cast members from being cut. Cast members Tania Raymonde and Scott Eastwood both quietly departed the series over the summer. Evidently, this move was made early enough that no episodes had been shot yet, so this won't be a case of the actors turning up in the first episode and then disappearing from then on. Chicago P.D. premieres on Wednesday, January 10th 2014 at 10/9c.
