Episode Quotes

Kate Beckett: What are you doing here?
Richard Castle: Me? What am I doing...? What are you doing here? Why didn't you tell me you were coming to town?
Kate Beckett: I was gonna surprise you.
Richard Castle: [with a pleased smile on his face] Well done!
Richard Castle: [watching Beckett and McCord] Maybe we should go over there and just invite them in for some coffee, you know?
Javier Esposito: We are not serving them coffee. You bought this espresso machine for the NYPD. This is NYPD coffee only.
Richard Castle: Come on, guys. That's a little harsh.
Kevin Ryan: Harsh? Beckett's a Judas. Her and her partner just hijacked our case.

Kevin Ryan: Whose side are you on?
Richard Castle: Your side. Guys, I'm... I'm on your side.
Javier Esposito: Hey Ryan, isn't it a little weird that Castle shows up the same day that Agent Beckett takes over?
Kevin Ryan: Yes, it's quite a coincidence.

Richard Castle: No, that's not... that's not a coincidence. That's... yeah, well. No, actually yes, it's a coincidence.
Javier Esposito: Maybe you and Beckett are in on this together. Maybe you are her inside man. You are Judas's Judas.
Richard Castle: We really have to talk about something.
Kate Beckett: Okay.
Richard Castle: We've been doing this... long distance thing for months, and, uh... I mean, we never see each other. And when we do, it's a... it's a day here, it's a weekend there, and... let's face it, it's not... working.
Kate Beckett: I... I know, Castle, but I don't... I don't know how to fix this.
Richard Castle: I do.

Kate Beckett: Wh... what is that?
Richard Castle: That's a key. To... our D.C. apartment. I mean, the truth is, I can... I can write from anywhere, so I found a place with a little home office.

Richard Castle: Listen, if you don't like it when you see it, we can always...
Kate Beckett: No!

Kate Beckett: I don't need to see it. I love this.

Mistakes/Goofs

  • Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Castle, Ryan, and Esposito are in the break room watching Beckett and McCord, Ryan comments about Beckett "Her and her partner just hijacked our case". The more grammatically correct structure is "she and her partner", because if the phrase "and her partner" is taken out of the sentence, the resulting "Her just hijacked our case" doesn't make sense.
  • Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Beckett and McCord find Esposito, Ryan, and Castle in the warehouse, Beckett doesn't recognize the trio until they turn around. Surely she would be able to recognize her fiancé, if not her longtime partners, from behind.
  • Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Most of the six people in the warehouse put their prints on the cases or the contents thereof, compromising evidence.

Trivia

  • SPOILER: Final appearance of Rachel McCord, Beckett's partner at the A.G.'s office. Two years later, in ""Castle" (2009) {XX (#8.2)}", Beckett learns that an inquiry into criminality connected to Senator Bracken she made shortly after starting her job in D.C. has led to McCord's murder.
  • The TV show and reunion movie that this episode is about are based off of the 1990s TV hit Saved By The Bell. When the CIA agent tosses his badge to Esposito, he calls Esposito Mario Lopez. Mario Lopez was one of the stars of Saved By The Bell.
  • A special feature included on the season six DVD set is an audio commentary for this episode by Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas in character as Ryan and Esposito.

Well, I thought Beckett was going to quit, but getting fired is just as good. Let's get back to the original players and plots. Thank God!!!!!
