9x04 The Sense in the Sacrifice
First Aired: Oct. 07, 2013 on FOX
Summary: Pelant is back, and the members of the Jeffersonian team want to put an end to the hold he's had over them, once and for all. When a human cadaver is willed for research to the team, they devise a plan, with the help of Special Agent Hayes Flynn, to stage the human cadaver in a way that…
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: There's no such thing as a soul.
Aldo Clemens: Says you. But Booth values nothing higher than his soul. Yet he's willing to sacrifice his soul to kill Pelant.
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Why?
Aldo Clemens: [Slight chuckle] You, of course... It's always going to come down to you.
Aldo Clemens: No! You people are killing me here! This is a business!
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Not a very good business
Aldo Clemens: Because people don't buy drinks!
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Okay, what if I buy a drink but don't drink it?
Aldo Clemens: That works for me
Dr. Lance Sweets: Well, Dr. Brennan is Pelant's endgame. He's trying to replace you. Has he done anything to prevent the two of you from getting together that we don't know about. [Booth thinks about it] I'll take that as a "yes."
- Goof (plot holes): SPOILER: The fate of the first body is never made clear. Pelant may possibly have had time to kill Flynn, flay him appropriately, and position him correctly in the time before the park opened (less than 5 hours after Flynn's departure from the garage), but how did he dispose of the first body?
