9x04 The Sense in the Sacrifice
First Aired: Oct. 07, 2013 on FOX
Summary: Pelant is back, and the members of the Jeffersonian team want to put an end to the hold he's had over them, once and for all. When a human cadaver is willed for research to the team, they devise a plan, with the help of Special Agent Hayes Flynn, to stage the human cadaver in a way that…
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: I think you killed her
Christopher Pelant: No, it wasn't me
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: You know who did it.
Christopher Pelant: Oh, same person who did 1870, 3606, 4005, 7932 and 9224
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: That's not possible! I wouldn't have missed that
Christopher Pelant: Don't be so hard on yourself! They were found on different geographical locations, killed by complete different methods, different ages. Nothing to connect them and yet they were all killed by one person!
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Who?
Christopher Pelant: I don't know... yet
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: There's no such thing as a soul.
Aldo Clemens: Says you. But Booth values nothing higher than his soul. Yet he's willing to sacrifice his soul to kill Pelant.
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: Why?
Aldo Clemens: [Slight chuckle] You, of course... It's always going to come down to you.
- Goof (plot holes): SPOILER: The fate of the first body is never made clear. Pelant may possibly have had time to kill Flynn, flay him appropriately, and position him correctly in the time before the park opened (less than 5 hours after Flynn's departure from the garage), but how did he dispose of the first body?
