Show Update
HBO Renews 'Barry'
HBO announced today that Barry has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes three episodes into the comedy's freshman run, which has so far been garnering a healthy amount of critical praise.
Combining a mix of dark comedy and drama, Barry stars Bill Hader - who also co-created the series - as a depressed, low-rent hitman from the Midwest who takes a job in Los Angeles to execute a hit on an aspiring actor. But after following his mark into acting classes, he winds up finding an accepting community within a group of LA theater scene hopefuls. This change in scenery inspires him to start a new life as an actor, but it won't be easy to just walk away from his criminal past.
Five episodes remain in the show's first season, with new episodes currently airing on Sunday nights. Look for Season 2 sometime in 2019.
