Recently, Anne Hathaway has been trying to make up with her "Hathahater" anti-fans after her ordeal at the 2013 Oscars.
Why does Anne have Hathahaters?
At the 2013 Oscars, Hathaway's acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables was seemingly unauthentic and poorly received. The fans said that she tried too hard, smiled too big, and used words in her speech that just did not fit. Her dress was also a target of criticism. It arrived the morning of the event and needed tailoring, but unfortunately time ran out. She rushed to the red carpet with her now infamous "pointy nipple" dress. Anne was frazzled before the Oscars and said she was caught off guard when she actually won. To sum it up: this one event caused her to begin an accumulation of anti-fans, and it hurt.
Will Anne's haters accept her apology?
After finding out her fans had this hatred toward her, she said she felt "punched in the gut." Anne admitted that public speaking is not one of her strengths. She also admitted that she has been turned down for multiple roles because she isn't sexy enough. So, in Harper's Bazaar November Daring Issue, Anne decided to "kiss and make up" with her fans. She's learning to grow, and even posed topless for the issue, a step towards a more "sexier" image.
What will they think of her next film?
This coming weekend, Interstellar is hitting the theaters. It's her first big role released since the ordeal. Hathaway will play Amelia, the chief scientist during the adventurous flight to Ice Planet. One of Amelia's lines is "Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends time and space." It is stated that Amelia's quote is the heart of of the film. Hopefully this role can turn her anti-fans into "Hathalovers" and put this whole ordeal behind her.
