Thanks to her leg-crossing turn in the erotic thriller Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone become a household name in 1992. For her role in the film, the actress earned her first Golden Globe nomination, before going on to star in other notable works, including Silver, Intersection, The Specialist, and The Quick and the Dead. However, it was her turn in Martin Scorsese's Casino that brought the actress critical acclaim.

The crime drama also starred Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci, and went on to become a huge box office hit in 1995, grossing more than $116 million on a $50 million budget. For her part, Stone won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama. She also earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, but lost to Susan Sarandon.

And then Stone's career seemed to veer off track.

Plagued by both personal and health issues, Sharon Stone's film career seemed to take a back seat. Sure, she starred in a handful of other flicks, such as The Mighty, The Muse, Cold Creek Manor, and Catwoman, but nothing that seemed to overly impress critics or viewers. For example, Catwoman is noted for being one of the biggest box office disappointments in history, grossing just $82 million on a $100 million budget. Ouch!

However, the actress did make a (small) return to the big screen, delivering praised performances in Alpha Dog and Bobby. Yet, it was her guest stint on The Practice that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award, and helped to put her back on top! She then went on to star in Basic Instinct 2, Lovelace, and, most recently, Mothers and Daughters. She even tried her hand as a television star, joining the cast of TNT's Agent X as a series regular. But the action show was cancelled after just one season.

So, where is Stone now?

According to IMDb. the actress has a handful of projects in the works, with release dates scattered across 2017. Are you ready for her return to mainstream? We are!
