Tom Cruise will always be a household name. However, can the versatile actor still hold his own at the box office? His latest flick hit theaters this past fall. And while it made a profit, it didn't do near as well as some other Cruise projects.
Produced on a budget of $60 million, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back grossed a little more than $155 million worldwide. However, the previous installment in the series, simply titled Jack Reacher, grossed more than $200 million worldwide.
Has Cruise lost his touch?
Not completely. Known for a variety of flicks (mostly action themed), the actors latest handful of films may not have done overly well. We're talking about Rock of Ages, Oblivion, and Edge of Tomorrow. However, Cruise is still riding strong with his Mission:Impossible franchise. The latest installment did extremely well, grossing more than $680 million worldwide. And now, it looks like the actor might be adding a new series to his filmography.

In Hollywood, remakes and reboots are no longer just common, but the norm! And this summer, Tom Cruise is headlining one of the latest franchises to see new light: The Mummy.
The trailer to the adventure flick has recently been released, in which it looks like Cruise will be taking over for Brendon Fraser. Fraser's last appearance in the series was in 2008's The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. However, Universal is hoping that with a new star and character, the franchise can once again be profitable.
Can Cruise do it again? Will his latest movie become a hit? The Mummy hits theaters this June.
