The Golden Globe Awards are officially over. And though there were a few surprises, a lot of the winners were predicted. After all, it's not hard to spot a stellar performance, one worthy of a trophy. But now the ultimate question in Hollywood seems to be on the tip of everyone's tongue: Who will win at the Oscars? In case you missed the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, we'll catch you up to speed: Both Casey Affleck and Ryan Gosling took home trophies. Does that mean of these actors stands the chance of taking home an Oscar?
Of course, before - or if - that happens, they will each have to be nominated for their roles . . . which is highly likely. History usually repeats isles, and a Golden Globe win almost always leads to an Oscar win.
So, will Affleck and Gosling be battling it out? And if so, which actor will most likely come out on top?
Casey Affleck delivered an amazing, dramatic performance in Manchester by the Sea. Starring opposite Michelle Williams, she too, earned a nomination for her acting chops. However, she lost to Viola Davis for Fences. This was Affleck's second Globe nom, and first win. An Oscar nomination is almost guaranteed, but can he beat Gosling?

For his performance in La La Land, Ryan Gosling won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. This was the actor's fifth nomination, who was previously nominated for flicks that include: Lars and the Real Girl, Blue Valentine; Crazy, Stupid, Love, and The Ides of March. Gosling has also previously been nominated for an Oscar for his performance in 2006's Half Nelson.
Though it's quite possible for a wrench to be thrown into the mix (after all, there were some other fantastic male performances this year), it's highly likely that one of these two men will be taking home an Oscar this award's season.
. . . And our money is on Casey Affleck. The Academy seems to love a good dramatic performance.
