Throughout the years, Charlize Theron has really made a name for herself. Like most Hollywood stars, she got her start playing bit parts in flicks that include Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest, 2 Days in the Valley, That Thing You Do!, and Trial and Error. However, in 1997, she achieved critical acclaim for her performance in The Devil's Advocate. Simply put, a star was born.
The actress went on to headline a variety of flicks, including Mighty Joe Young, Reindeer Games, Sweet November, Trapped, and The Italian Job. While some of these films were hits, and others box office bombs, Theron was headed in the right direction, and eventually made history.
In 2003, the thespian starred in Monster, for which she won a Golden Globe Award, and became the first South African actress to win an Oscar. And from there, her acclaim only seemed to grow.
Theron later received another Academy Award nomination for her part in North Country, followed by a fourth Golden Globe nob in 2012 for Young Adult. But now, the actress, or her career, could be in trouble . . .

Lately, the star has chosen some films that are quite questionable. Theron has recently been seen in A Million Ways to Die in the West, Dark Places, The Huntsman: Winter's War, and The Last Face - all critical and financial failures. And though there will always be a place for the actress in Hollywood, we can't help but wonder why she's chosen to participate in these projects.
Next up, Theron will be seen in The Fate of the Furious. And while the action flick is sure to be a huge hit, it's doubtful critical praise will be given to the latest entry int the Furious series.
What's wrong Charlize? And when can we expect some better flicks from you?
