Movie Trivia/Goofs

  • Movie Goof (continuity error): In the scene where Ben and Riley are in Paris and flying the toy chopper you can see the Eiffel Tower on the screen on Riley's control. In the next scene when Ben talks with the French police you can see the Eiffel Tower on the other side of the bridge.
  • It should come as little surprise that Patrick Gates would be associated with the Confederacy. In the original National Treasure, Patrick Gates displayed in his library a portrait of Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.
  • Movie Goof (continuity error): As the walls of the City of Gold burst and water begins to fill up, the group gets drenched. Yet, as they enter the chamber while following the water currents moments later, Wilkinson is dry from the waist up.
  • Movie Goof (errors made by characters, possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When Ben is trying to decrypt the Playfair Cipher, he says the keyword must be 5 letters long and tries a variety of 5 letter words. Actually, when using this encryption method the keyword/key-phrase can be shorter or longer provided it makes a 5 x 5 table of non-repeating letters.
